I took on a room-mate once and gave her a hundred bucks off the rent if she kept the house clean. She was my room-mate for four years. Once, I asked her to climb on the roof to check and service the swamp cooler. I stayed below and made lunch, lemonade, offered advice, etc. During a lunch break she said, "You're a witch. Can't you do something about getting someone here to do this?"
I replied, looking her straight in the eyes, "I did."
